they havent been of any help. I keep blowing the top tank on new radiators. does anyone know what cap pressure it should have??? they always blow pinholes and seams so that it spews all over my steering pulley. I now have a 13lb cap with pressure release lever on it, and release pressure everytime I shut it off. Anyone know where to find a 6 lb cap? Im thinking this may solve the prob.... But what else could it be? I put a new thermostat in five years ago, and I dont think thats the prob. Im thinking the stock radiator was a weak design, and the cap has got to be pressurized too much for it to handle.??? Any help is MUCH aprreciated. This has been going on for 50,000 miles now. SICK of it.
My stock radiator with 13lb cap works great with no problems. I would suspect a slight headgasket leak. NAPA may be able to get you a lighter cap, but that won't fix the problem.
Have you ever removed the thermostat and w/p belt and run it, looking for compression bubbles in the coolant?
