clutch linkage
You might have to search for a juice clutch set up. No idea where to send you for that. Maybe the Ultrastang site.
. As I recall, you have a non-factory motor, right? 351M or C in a 67 Mustang? You may have to mix and match parts from a '67 and whatever the engine came out of.
anyway, so with matching parts together, i thought the clutch had nothing to do with the engine? (only because the clutch is in the tranny and not the block) im getting a toploader, so i would hope it would work out fine with that. for the pedal and other stuff that you were talking about like that spring that i am now scared of lol, would i be able to steal the stuff i need out of a 68 coupe that was a manual? thanks for the info...keep it comin
oh yeah...whats a juice setup?
If you can get parts off a '68, you may be halfway there.
The engine gets involved in the clutch linkage on a Mustang because the z bar rests on the top of the subframe rail on the left, and on the left edge of the bell houseing on it's (the z bar's) right. The bell has a ball-ended bolt that the z bar fits over. When you get the stuff out of the '68, look for it.
All this z bar stuff is what gets in the way of the exhaust.....
You should be able to eyeball it to see if the '68 parts will fit and if your bell has the proper fitting. If it won't fit and there is no fitting I would:
A) reconsider the manual trans
B) start researching a hydraulic clutch for your car. I have no idea where to send you for that other than internet searchs. I have no experience installing such a unit, although someone else here might.
Keep in mind you are on a Ford Truck site and many of the trucks discussed here already have hydraulic clutches. (hydraulics are not considered much of a high performance set up, by the way) It is unlikely a Ford truck set up would easily adapt to a Mustang.
Note also I am recounting my experience with a '65. Certain things may be different on a 67-68, as those cars were designed to take a big block.
Before you pull the '68 parts, take pictures or draw diagrams.
Also, eyeball your buddy's '67 that has a clutch. Compare how stuff fits and where it goes compared to the space available on your car.
