Looking for improved mileage for my 2003 F250 V10, not sure what chips are out there, what's good, what's bad, etc...

Chips and tuners are designed for power, not mileage. While they may give 1-2 mpg they require premium fuel to do this so your fuel costs won't change significantly....

For mileage, you aren't going to be able to buy anything that will give you good enough mileage to make it worth paying $ for the part. The best thing is to make sure your vehicle is tuned up prperly and in good running order, and keep a light foot. Most bolt on's wont give you that much for mileage anyways. Take me for example. After buying an intake, exhaust and chip, I get maybe 3 mpg better, but I have spent close to $800 for those mods. If I drove 15,000 miles a year, which I don't, it will take me at least 5-6 years to pay for them in saved gas, throw in the fact that I'm using premium now and it takes even longer. Mods are definately worth it for the power, and they will give better mileage if you keep uor foot out of the gas, but they will never pay for themselves in saved gas. Now if your already willing to pay money for more power, the added mileage comes as a nice little extra and might help justify it with the wife or parents or whoever else might be watching your spending.
