Ok guys this is probably a stupid question but here goes.
I'm in the process of removing the body off the frame of my '79 f350
and noticed shims between the rubber bushings and the body.
Every mount has a different number of shims,I've been keep track of how many came from each mount.
Now when I go back together with the new bushings do I put all the shims back where I took them out of?
Does anybody now if the shims come with the body mount kit?
If they don't come in the kit where would I find them,as these ones are pretty rusty and don't want to use the rusty ones on the freshly painted frame, if you now what I mean.
I would not put any shims under it until you put it back together and see where you are. If all the mounts are good and the truck has never been recked it shouldn't need any shims under the cab.
Yes you will figure out where you need the shim's when all the body panel's are back on. Some might need shim's for body alignment. When I put new mount's on mine I did not reuse any of the old shim's and all the panel's lined up fine.
