Ignition switch problem with a [CodeAlarm] twist
Can crank the engine by putting power on the S terminal of the solenoid, and all electrical seems to turn on with the ignition switch. But the ignition switch will not crank the engine. I know the plastic post issue has been discussed before, but I cannot find answers to a couple of questions:
What has to be removed on the steering column to access the rod activating the solenoid switch?
What color are the wires in the ignition switch harness that connects to the solenoid, the same red/blue I see at the starter solenoid?
Is it possible a sensor switch for the Park/neutral position is not operating and preventing starting?
Finally, this vehicle had a CodeAlarm installed in it which still blinks as if armed. I have not used it in five years, but it also can interrupt the starting sequence. I am trying to remove it, but I cannot find a diagram for the CodeAlarm or the 150 ignition switch wiring, so I am not sure what to do with the four heavy wires that are cut into by the alarm. Two are for the siren uner the hood. Two are related to the ignition switch wiring.
Thanks.

You can disconnect both of those from the alarm brain and splice them together in order to bypass the ignition kill on the alarm.
Chances are the Alarm Brain has a sticker on it with the function of each wire color.
Check the Haynes/Helms/Chiltons Manual for a schematic.
