Undercoating

Hopefully this is the right forum. I'm looking for some advise or products for undercoating my truck. Living in eastern canada where salt is a particular pest during the winters, what can I use to get the largest benefit. I'd prefer not to drive it at all during the winter, but Oh well.

Thanks

You might look in consumer reports but my inside dealer informants say that usually undercoating is more of a profit maker than a rust inhibitor. Not only does the underside need to be spotless, but the undercoating can get in areas that actually block the water drain areas, thus causing water to collect and eventually rust. I live in the mid-west and get the best of all seasons, during winter I make a point of flushing the under carriage and wheel wells and good as I can. But I do understand you deal with harsher weather but I would recommend against it.

Thanks. Finally the truth comes to light.

I had wanted to stay away from it, in order to stay orig, so I guess I will.

To be quite honest, in another life, I worked at a GM Dealership in the new car get ready department, that was in 1986 but I still have friends there and they say it hasn't changed.
