Talking dont hate me foo

Hello I dont know if any one will like this because I do not have a ford "truck". But I am 16 recently got me a car its a 1978 Ford LTD hearse, yes im weird and it was free (long story). It has a 351m/400 and I was reading coments here thought maybe it would be ok if I posted, well the car has a power steering leak not sure were any ideas on fixing that?. Today I fixed its main problem it ran rough and well one spark plug wire wasnt connected not sure why not so now it runs real nice. I heard you can put a rv cam in these engines and get alot more power, true false? got any suggestions on mods I can do for this engine for more power or just because?

P.S. if any one wants pics or something tell me

hey i figure its ok as this is the engine forum and likely you may of saved an old ford from the fate that it spent its life delivering others to....kind of a people wrecker/towtruck lol

first check under the 351m/400(or 5.8m/6.6) on the engine label which engine do you have is it have a 351m(5.8m) or 400(6.6)

the rv cam is ok but you have to swap the lifters, maybe the springs and timing chain(should do this now anyway) like any other cam change
any chance you are looking at the mellings MTF2 listed on ebay all the time
the dual energy from comp cams is pretty mutch suited to this engine the 265DEH will do nice thing to the old towtruck

Hello, welcome to FTE!

Check with the General Automotive forum for your PS problem. GA forum is for cars and "off" brands discussions.

We can discuss your engine here.

well power steering over-clean it and watch i would replace the pressure and return hose as it maybe swolen or colapsed apearing good
also a common(every ford i have had) there could be bubbles in the system
SECURE the front off the ground and with the rear blocked turn from lock to lock while running and make sure the fluid stays full
repeat and again
always fixed the running over of my powersteering (if its not a dripity problem that could be a seal(time to replace
guess this aint the place for ya but i gotta try help a brotha out we don't this old hauler turning ya away from the best verihickles ever made for their specific poupose
