t-bars question

t-bars question

I have a 2003 4x4 super cab step side and i wanted to put 285 75 16 on it and i was going to crank my t-bars about a 1.5in and then get my rear spring re arced. now by do this to my t-bars will this cause any problem i heard if you didnt go pass 2 or so it wouldnt. thanks

It will be a real tight fit for those tires with no real lift. You'll probably have to trim a bit of you bumper valance and take off any mudflaps. They'll really fill the wheel wells. You shouldn't hurt anything by cranking the torsion bars 1.5" or so. Much more than that and you really don't have any down travel left, than it can cause problems with balljoints and stuff . Just make sure you get it re-aligned after you do it. There's really a huge amount of people with the torsion bars cranked, and I've never heard of any failures caused directly from it, just a bunch of old guys (no offense anyone ) telling you it's bad with no explaination. It's no different than putting a coil spacer in another truck. Might also want to consider a body lift and just getting 33's? Good luck
