bumpy acceleration through certain RPM
I have an 99 Explorer, which seems to be running well.. with one exception.
When driving between 1500 and 2000rpm... the truck lags and has problems accelerating and "bumps". Especially if I roll the throttle in that RPM range (which is 50-60km/h/30mph)
It has no problems from an standing start through that range.
Only when the truck is already driving.
It also happens at higher speeds, within the same RPM.
Dealer has scanned it, and there are no transmission error codes.
Its goin in for more service tommorow... but folks are scratchin their heads.
Any help, advice would be appreciated.
Thanks in advance,
I have not even mentioned it to the dealer yet as I have them working on another problem for me that has had my truck at the dealer 6 times already. I figure I have roadside assistance so if the tranny goes I'll just make Ford pick up the whole tab.
My truck is going back on Tuesday, so I may simply ask them to lubricate the differential slip joint while they have it for a couple of days (it's a routine maintenance thing and I am just about at 16,000 miles anyway, so it couldn't hurt.)
Please keep us posted on what your dealer is able to find.
