Newbie to the group, newbie to fords, newbie to pickup trucks.
after eschewing Fords since 1963 (no offence, just was never attracted to one brand versus another and other brands met my needs)I bought a 1990 f150 custom at
auction on Saturday and drove it home Monday morning without
incident. Price= $350.
Question. There is an ebay dealer selling aftermarket left hand
exhaust manifolds for the 302. Does anyone have any experience
with these?
My LH manifold is obviously cracked, and I guess this is very
common. How about the RH manifold? Is there the same history of
problems with them?
The truck has 140xxx miles (I think.. 5 digit odometer). The
transmission really clunks going into OD. Bad sign? I am planning
on new fluids and filters, including transmission. Any horrors
about changing the transmission filter that will bite me in the butt?
Is there any other automatic transmission option beside e4OD?
Not sure about the rest, but as far as the tranny goes, the only trouble I've ever had was breaking the pan bolts. Seeing as the e4od is electronically controlled, changing trannys isn't an option (to me at least) with out changing computers too.
