According to Haynes manual, you should have a connector at the Premium Sound Amp with the following color wires:
From Radio /Cassette Head unit:
1. Right Front;P/W and LB ... Right Rear; W/R and BR
2. Left Front; LB/BK and Y ... Left Rear ; WOand LG
3. Volume/Power/Unknown Function ???; DB
From Premium Amp to Speakers and or JBL Subwoofer System
1. Right Front; DG/O and W/LG ... Right Rear; BK/W and O/R
2. Left Front; LB/W and O/LG ... Left Rear; PK/LB and PK/LG
3. To JBL SUB Amp if Present; Y and R
Y is also tied to +12VDC thru Interior fuse Panel Fuse #16, 20AMP
R is also tied to ground. As well as carrying the Subwoofer output, it appears these 2 leads also supply power to Sub Amp if equipped with JBL option.
If you are replacing the head unit and want to bypass the Premium Amp, disconnect the connector at the amp and short across the in/out speaker leads. If sub is present, I see no way to reconnect it unless your head unit has a seperate sub output channel, or you install a crossover filter type system.
I would go into the wiring harness about 6 inches back from the Premium Amp connector and cut the leads and install a spade type male/female connector then just bypass the connector altogether (you can get these from Radio Shack and most automotive supply houses). I would also leave the remaining leads attached to the original connector just in case you ever want to revert to the original setup.
