I don't like the cornfeild thing bad idea. Makes the state look "hillbilly" IMO. Personally I am a skull, dragon, flame kinda guy.
What about if we could find some shots of different stlyes of the trucks, big 4x4, stocker, ratty old pos (like mine ;^)) newer, you get the idea. But get like 5 of them tearing out of the center of the state outline one going toward each of the corners, and one coming straight at you. I'd use a 79 to come straight at you because to me it is very recognizable as a ford. But I don't know alot of fords either is there a more recognizable one to the general population? With maybe the FTE logo arched across the top and Iowa chapter arched on the bottom. Ford-Trucks.com inside the state lines under the tear. I can try the 'puter design and probably have better luck hand drawing it but my artistry skills are fading from lack of use. There is I guy or two I work with I can chat with though and see if I can get them to draw something like this up and I can scan and post it.
If we don't have to use the direct logo maybe go with Ford Truck Enthusiasts across the top instead of the logo. Logo inside at the top center? I don't know just some ideas.
The FTE logo does need to be on it, and be fairly prominent. Beyond that it is whatever we want to do I was after a representation of all of Iowa, just couldn't come up with the images I wanted to finish my idea. I'm no computer graphics expert, so I just "borrow" some images from the net. I wanted to have some corn stalks showing in one corner, and a pheasant flying in another, and then the city skyline (that actually is Des Moines' skyline, courtesy of the Register...) to show the city aspect, and the barn as the rural side. Since iowa is known as the Tall Corn State, I thought it probably would be a good idea to have it represented.
If we want our own bumper stickers, we have to get a logo figured out. Until then, we will have to use the generic stickers. We could go simple and just use the outline alone, but I thought a representation would be nice. Ideas? Thoughts? Likes? Dislikes?
we messed alot with the logo thing in the high plains forum. granted they are a nice thng to have and i am sure everyone here would wear a tshirt if they got one, but the big pain is the cost. silk screening looks great but that first printing WOW ! thats the hard thing, i am all for it though if we can get enough people to want it and help in it. I do know this though, up in the walcott truck stop is a little side store in the clothing area that will put pictures and or text on anything for you. i am not entirely sure of the cost but the next time one of us truckers are in there we should find out.other then that if we go with something else i think we should go with the K.I.S.S method.
I have an inside line on a screen printer here, nice to have all kinds of inlaws relatives around here, if we can get enough interest, i can get the shirts done reasonable. I plan to get other quotes too, to be sure we are getting the best deal. I can ask Dick if FTE did help out with the shirts or not, had been some chatter of that as well.
For the sake of cost on both the shirts and stickers, fewer colors are better, like said, K I S S, graphics and design not too far out. That's why the images I put on are B&W. Forgot to mention that point.

What's wrong with the cornfield idea? It's what Iowa does, right? We grow corn. We also raise cattle, hogs, soybeans, and good lookin' girls.
Why dont it surprise me you wanted the corn logo (just flippen you grief )
I like the corn idea also and was thinking/playing around with the hawkeye & cyclone logo until my wife mentioned the panthers and thought I should just leave the college logo idea alone
This is why we need to figure out a logo: https://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/s...d.php?t=281463 If we want any of this kind of stuff, we have to have our own logo to put on it. I am open to ideas, criticism of what I posted, anything, just need some feedback and ideas to get this finished.
We're Iowa, corn's a part of it. I've already expressed my idea of what I think would be a cool look for the shirt. Whatever it is, I ought to be able to afford it - so I'll buy one. Or maybe two ^_^.
Here's another look for the logo, simple but effective. I'm not good enough with the computer to make a pic of a truck in a cornfield without actually doing it, I tried...
edit: I have tried to get the image to be bigger, but I'm getting tired of fighting with this newfangled teknoligy... I have it larger on file, reduced to 5x7, still won't show it any larger. RRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR!!!!!!!!!!!

i use a program called micrographix, it rocks and is simplke to do anything with, i could drop off a copy and show you some stuff the net time i am down there
Hey gotta say I like the flag logos. Haven't had time to post anything about them. I like the idea saurian had in the other thread. Put the Iowa chapter across the top and The fte logo on the bottom. I made up a couple of a combination of ideas. hats why I poped in tonight and saw this one. Anyway here'sthe ones I threw together.
My visualization on this is about the same, but simpler, keep in mind the fact this will go on t-shirts, bumper stickers and such, so can't be overdone, but thanks for the effort. Someone that can draw or has graphics ability would be the best candidate for doing it, basically almost cartoon style, like Kansas did with their tornado. This one kind of looks like a road sign that someone just crashed through...
yea the tearing through was what I was goin for. but I agree line drawings or cartoonish would be much better. I don't trust my drawing ability anymore to draw it though just wanted to get the idea out. I do know a couple guys who could draw it up if interested.
So far I think the flag is the right route once the layout is nailed down.
