No problem. You can still rebuild your turbo if you would prefer too, but the damaged housing would need to be replaced and since the exhaust wheel is welded to the shaft, you would need to replace that too (the turbine shaft may have been damaged when the wheel contacted the housing).
HERE is a good rebuild article for a TP-38. The procedure will be pretty much the same for the GTP-38 on your truck.
Sweet info Cookie...and after talking to my buddy again...he didn't even pull the turbo out of my truck, he was just telling me his opinion based upon how it sounded. He is going to pull it out today and check the housing, impeller, and the exhaust wheel. I may be able to just buy a rebuild kit and get on with it. I also found out, that Diesel Innovations sells used turbos (off of trucks that upgrade their turbos) for $350..and I live about 2 miles away from them. I'm thinking I may just buy a used turbo, slap it in my truck, then rebuild my old one and sell it. Thanks for all your help guys....this site ROCKS!
I changed it to Northwest Houston just for you cookie....thanks again for your help!! I think I may have my solution, I'm just waiting for a call back from DI.
Allright...damnitt...DI doesn't have any used turbos in stock, that sucks he said best bet is dealer, which is 700 and I just don't have it. I guess I'm going to have to try the rebuild route. Hey Bag, I sent you a PM....

I wasn't planning on getting rid of my stock turbo, but it's just taking up space in the garage. Send me an e-mail or a PM and we can talk about it if you're interested.

I sent you a pm cookie, if you reply tonight, I won't get it until tommorow. I have to hit the sack. Thanks!
Glad I could help. It's funny how things work out. It wasn't two weeks ago that MrsCookie was bugging me about getting rid of some of those old parts in the garage.
