Recently when the outside temperature is 50-65 degrees, my 98 V8 5.0
Explorer does not want to idle at normal speed(below 500 RPM). It did this one time before, no problem. Yesterday and today, same condition. But, today, the check engine light came on and stayed on after shutting off and restarting. Any sugestions???
I had a similar problem w/ my 96 4.0L, except my Check Engine light would also turn on randomly. If you have an Autozone near you, they'll hook your truck up and check your code. My solution was a new thermostat, it was stuck open and the coolant temp wasn't right.
