I have a 94 Bronco which I moved from AZ to MI. Just a few days a go the rear window stopped working with both the Key and the buton on the dash. The owners manual states the fuse for this is (12) and powers the door locks and the read window. Door locks work fine, when I remove numver (12) door lock stop.
Somebody said I should try to open and close the rear door. Can the door be opened and closed when the window is up?
no it cant be opened with the window up. try pushing on the driverside of the tailgate and maybe if you are lucky the safety switch wasnt just closed rite.
If pushing on the tailgate doesnt make it operate, the tailgate sensor could have gone out. I have a post on this thread about how to bypass it if that is it:
Thanks for all the feedback. I pushed on the tailgate while operating the key and managed to get the window down. Then I reclosed the tailgate and now everything is good to go.
Good to know you got it working. Ive tried everything with mine to get it working on demand. It hasent been working for about 3 weeks until today when I was driving down a real bumpy road. All of a sudden it works when I pushed the lever. Amazing. Someday I will catch the gremlin in my tailgate.
siphor84, thanks for that post on those instructions. I have owned every bronco style with the exception of the early bronco and for years I have been trying to figure out where the saftey switch was. Every one that I have ever owned has had trouble with the rear window at one point in it's lifetime. I currently have an '88 and a 94 in the driveway and both have been giving me this problem. The '88 has been sitting without a window for two years because of this. within an hour I got both fixed. Thanks.
No prob dino. My philosopy with vehicles and all their electonic .. "things", if you dont need them, bypass them! They always end up failing at some point..
That philosophy also keeps me from buying any kind of new car... but I don't mind
never leave home without duck(hehe)tape. The striker plate bushing being worn is also a problem, (doesn't allow the latch close all the way) it can be replaced very easy.....duct tape will get you to the parts house
