fender headers?

fender headers?
do the headers that go out and into the fenderwell really work alot better? my brother said that on his 73 highboy (like what i have) he didn't have the headers that exited through the fender and ended up burning through lots of starters. so whats the deal with fender headers vs. regular headers?

Fender exit headers allow your headers to exit through you fenderwells and therefore you can run your exhaust down the outside of the frame if you wish. This keeps the hot headers and exhaust from interfering with trannys, starters, clutch linkage...etc.

& it's a straight shot back. No pipe bending. I get about 3 years out of a set of Headmans. like any header there impossible to keep paint on & most coating companies won't guarante there coatings on outboard's.You usualy have to readjust your steering stops if you have big tires.
