I recently aquired a 1989 Ranger 2.3 with the dual ignition system. Half of the wires were missing (?!!) and the block they came off of is not numbered. Does anyone know which post goes to which cylinder or an easy way to find out? Thanks.
I recommend you pick up a Haynes or Chiltons Repar Manual for your Ranger. About $15 dollars at most autoparts stores. You will use it.
In the meantime, if you go to AutoZone's website they have some repair information available. You can look up your year and model truck and follow the links to the "Engine Electrical" section where there are diagrams showing the firing order, plug wire numbering, etc.
