Battery mishap

crossed leads while connecting battery. wires leading up to battery started to smoke and i heard a pop. uncrossed leads and tried to start my truck. the lights come on but the engine wont turn over. checked all fuzes and they were fine. did i short something else?

You may have burned out a fusible link, or one of the ground wires. Sometimes when a link burns up there is not much left. Check the wiring to your alternator too.
