Which way to go
Has anyone ever put a 460 in a 71 f100 4x4 in place of the 360 FE? I am stuck here. I have a 71 f100 4x4 with 360 fe /np435/dana 21 tcase. I wanted an automatic with a np205 t case but found out they did not make em in 71. I found a 78 f250 camper special with a 460/c6 np205 tcase I sure would like to put it in my truck but can it be done easliy or cheap compared to whatever it will take to put a FE /c6/np205 combo together.Helphere I must make a decision tonight for the deal on the 460 setup will expire as of tomorrow afternoon.HELP

I put a 460 into my 67 2wd f100 that origonally came with a 390. It can be a pain in the rear to do but If you have a donor car it makes it alot easier. you will need all the brackets, mounts and crossmembers all of which will have to be modified to fit because the 78's frame is just a little diffrent. I had a shop do the install of my 460 shown in my gallery. after everything is said and done I'm out $1,000 labor and they told me never to come back again (took a week to modify my headers and steering to work).
