Snapped my O2 sensor in half...

Well, in the never ending pursuit to make my F-250 run properly, I decided to pop in a new oxygen sensor. I've done it on other cars before, and it has always gone pretty smoothly.

This was in there super tight though, and after some PJ blaster I got out my 4 foot breaker bar and went at it. At first it made a creaking sound as it turned, which seemed encouraging, but my last crank of the handle twisted the sensor right in half, so all that is left is flush with the mounting bung.

I obviously need to take it to my local garage now (how well will it run with no sensor at all?), how big a job is this going to be? can they just weld in a new bung? Will they have to replace the whole pipe? I suppose there is achance that they could twist out the remaining part, but I am not counting on it...

Thanks in advance for any input...

have muffler shop cut a new hole, and put in new sensor. leave the broken one alone.
