Oh ok, thanks for the info on that. I'm getting the round on for on the tube.
I was looking for just paper ones today after reading alot of peoples dislikes with k&n and i found the right number paper ones that people were posting for the tymar type system but they all didnt have that little lip that slips over the tube, i was finding them for 15 bucks but like i said the only one that would work was 50 and thats too much in my opinion.
Thanks again, i'll post a pic of the finished product.
I've been running with the K&N intake for 6+ months and haven't had any problems with it. Just keep it well oiled, that's the key to the whole filter. I think I'm oiling mine too much because I've got oil leaking out of the seals. Just takes some experience on my part on how much oil it needs, I'm sure it won't be a problem since you've used them so much. I'd rather have too much oil than not enough though.
I check my intake regularly and haven't had any problem of dust being in there, still clean as it can be and hope it stays that way.
BTW, don't worry about having gauges if you want to shim the fuel pressure regulator. It doesn't dump more fuel into the engine, it just raises the fuel pressure. People do this mod for better throttle response and a smoother idle, and you can do it for less than $1.
Well the intake and shimming the fuel regulator are done and I love the turbo sound now, its great!
Question on the clamp mod. Where does this go? I've been reading about it and everyone just says you put the clamp on but never mention where this wire is. Also what does the clamp do? Allow more fuel or something? I'm still reading threw other posts but not getting alot out of them, thanks
