Just FTY on the Diablo...

For some of you guys wanting a Diablo Chip, they are on sale for $195 at motorhaven. I bought mine for $230 new, so that's a really nice deal. Anyways, thought you might want to know if you didn't already.

LoL, I would have to say David is right. I wonder how much difference this one and the new one will be (performance wise) from eachother.

Anyone have any idea, because if it's not much I might have to buy the chip and get a MAC....Atleast something to pay off my hard worked summer job with my dad's concrete business!

BTW, Thanks for the post Joe

The new one is out man. BUT, it's only out to the 2004 heritage 4.2 model trucks.

BTW, you are talking about the tuner aren't you?

I remember Kenny saying something about a new chip coming out soon. I thought he meant a new Diablo chip.

Well, I'd say that price is not to shabby. Now I can either get an intake or a chip....hmmmm

Mac Cold Air Intake Price Per 1 HP
$140/12.5 HP=$11.40 per 1 HP

Diablo Chip on sale Price Per 1 HP
$196/19 HP=$10.31 per 1 HP

Roughly the same... But I would go with the MAC since it is very visible under the hood and cost a little less and when running the Diablo you have to use premium unleaded gasoline so it cost more in the long run.

Thats what I was thinking also...although the 19 hp sound tempting , does it cost extra to have them programmed to remove the top speed limiter?

Um not so sure on that, I am sure that you can install the chip by yourself with ease using the directions.... Joe would know all about that though (true4.2)

They are not on sale because a new one is coming out. They are on sale because July/August is a traditional slow period due to vacations and school starting.

It didn't cost me a penny more to get the speed limiter taken off. I installed it and all at once for 1 price I got power, torque, and the balance I wanted out of my truck. Keep in mind I have a 5 speed. I requested that the limiter be removed, and Ken removed it. I've been 120+ on the open roads before, though I would never recommend going that fast anywhere illegally. Sometimes, I just can't help it though.
