Leakin coolant

Just got a 91 explorer from a friend and i've only had it for about 4 days now. Went to wally world and i come out and there's a big pile of coolant on the ground....crawled under there and and from what i can tell its leakin somewhere from the mid section of the engine. Called my dad *i'm only 21 don't know that much* and he said it could be the head gasket or warped heads. What would you suggest i do? HELP PLEASE! Would a bottle of that radiator leak stuff work? Lemme know b4 this thigns blows up!

Had the engine been running hot ? It may just be the water pump has failed . Check all the hoses etc & the water pump weep hole for leaks . Putting stop leak in for something like this will only clog things up that may not need to be clogged , that stuff does what it says & any tubes in the radiator that may be partially clogged will become fully clogged .

No the engine has been running pretty cool lately. The guy who i bought it from i trust a great deal and he says that he has never really dogged it and tried to take the best care of it. What side is the water pump on? The leak seams to be dripping down from the driver's side of the truck.

Seems to me you are looking at the wrong side of the problem. Gravity and capilary action takes the coolent back and to the ground, the leak is above that. After the truck has run for a while (a couple of minutes) and is up to operating temperature, with the engine running, open the hood and have a look. Should be a lot of evidence as to the area where the leak originates. Like a previous poster suggested, check all the hoses and their connections to metal parts, check the heater hose connections. If you still can not find it, shut the engine off and get you head back under the hood. With the engine off and pressure still up the leak may be more noticable. If your engine is running well and there is no water in the oil it is doubtful that the block is cracked or that there is something wrong with the head gaskets. More likely a hose or its fitting. It could even be that the coolent level was overserviced and is overflowing out to earth. If you go very long like this all your coolent will be gone and you won't have this simple problem any more....
