spark plug wire clips

spark plug wire clips

replaced the spark plugs on my '97 5.0L explorer today. accomplished this through the wheel wells. had trouble replacing the wires. anybody know how to open up those plastic clips/spacers that keep the wires in place without breaking them?

after tinkering for a while, I got those puppies open. Thanks for everyone's help.
