Chasing Electric Problem in EEC-IV 1993
The most expensive part is the airfare. Try Suntrips at www.suntrips.com or 1.800.SUNTRIPS. Many fishing buddies use them and if you book your flight 30+ days in advance they charge $99- round trip plus taxes from Oakland and Denver.
you looked inside the eec module? is that the part inside the vehicle? what did u hafta do to veiw the inside?
ps sorry bout all thats going on w/ marriage
First I suggest you remove tha kick panel and get your nose as close to the Module as possible and smell. If it smells like a burned electrical component like a resistor or capacitor it may be the unit. These smells are different than the smell of a burned wire. I'm sure you know what a burned wire smells like. This is similar but different.
If you have a smell inside you Bronco that smells like rotten eggs, or have you ever plugged a 10K Ohm 1/4 watt resistor into a wall socket and let it smolder. Thats the smell.
Also check the wires coming from the battery positive lead at the battery. Not the big one to the starter but the little ones. Sometimes these wires get soaked with battery acid on a hot day or by overloading the battery with repeated heavy starts. I had to repair these wires also.
PS Dont be sorry about the marriage. She promised to stop smoking and drinking before we got married in out pre-nup's 6 years ago. She never has attempted to stop. After 6 years of stench and excuses , bye-bye.
