Can anyone suggest a brand of leveling kit (2") for a 02 F250 SuperCab 4X4 5.4 without plow springs? I was also thinking of swapping out the rear 2" block for a 4". Where can I get block and new U-bolts? Dealership? Will this maintain stock ride quality?
here's my advice, get a hanger kit and a adjustable trac bar, any of the big brands are all going to work. i purchased the ford 4" rear block and new u bolts @ a power brake and spring comp. the ford blocks have the bump stop built into them, which is worth the money.
Badford, are the pics in your second gallery with a hanger kit? Beccause I noticed you still have the crash bar thing attached. I thought you had to remove it to make clearance for the longer front shackle.
I am debating on getting a hanger kit or an Edge mini spring pak. I've heard they both maintain stock ride which is what I want.
i have a 2.5 " hanger kit, yeah i had to remove the front crash bar, i also had to fab a bracket to re-attach the side bumper brackets. my hangers were made by Nixon perf they sell on e bay cheap, but i don't recomend them. i had to re-weld them due to there welds were under sized.
CarlF250: sent you an answer to your PM. I'm very happy with the Edge mini spring pak and Bilstein shocks. Highly reccomend them to anyone looking to level or lift 2".
Who has the best prices for the Edge mini spring pak? Are there any other shocks that are comparable to the Bilsteins? I know you can barely see them, but I don't like the color (yellow and blue). Do I even need to replace them when I intstall the Edge kit?
I just had SDHQ install the Edge 2" spring pack on my 01' F250 to level it out. You can retain the stock shocks with the 2" lift. Anything bigger and you'll need to go to aftermarket shocks.
I had an email conversation with one of the suspension companies.
They said that the use of any aftermarket springs will decrease the carrying/towing capacity of the truck. They further said that a hanger kit would not do this as it retains the stock springs.
Can anyone confirm this? If it's true, what would the approximate loss of capacity by with a 4" spring lift?
