lift kit

Wife wants me to lift the truck. What a girl. Siad we had about $1000 to spend.
Should I get a 4in or 6in I will be running 35in tires. I know that 35's and 4in will rub a little but I tow a camper and don't want to have problems. She drives the truck the most(lucky her) and I don't want it to have drivablity problems. I'm pretty sure that I want the extended radius arms and add a leafs or complete rear springs. One of my problems is that my truck sits level now I'm pretty sure it's that way from the factory. I know it has the rear suspension upgrade from the factory so what do I need for the rear?

The kits I have looked at are, from Truckperformance online
procomp w/ the ext arms and add a leafs for $1093
and superlift with the same stuff for $910

from ntwonline the superlift is $860 but I don't know if it has the add a leafs

Can anyone give me any more info on kits or things I will need?
Should I go with the 4 or 6 lift?

Any help will be great.

By the way it's a 96 f-150 ext cab

If you don't go with the 6", you'll wish you had. Stay away from the procomp lifts. Get the complete rear springs, extended arms, and you'll probably need extended brake lines too.

Go with what Pro said. You will need the extended brake lines, well you dont need them, you can always make the factory ones work, but get the extended ones.

skyjacker 6" system is the best but remember it will get real expensive with a system. don't forget to include shocks, pitman arm, and brake lines....you won't need them but they will stiffen up the pedal a lil bit.

but you can also do a shackle flip in the rear which will cost ya $125 and then for the front you can move the coil buckets down to level it with the back....prolly give you a good 4-5" of lift for about $150 if you do the work yourself.

http://fordtrucks.com/forums/showthr...ght=f150+lift+ this post pertains to your truck BTW and it took me 30 seconds to find

That link has nothing that pertains to me I want to lift it not cut the fenders.
I did do a search by the way before I posted.
Havn't found much on the shackle kit can you tell me about it. Is it safe, is it the right way to do it, and is there anything I need to worry about with it.
I plan on keeping this truck forever so I want the best I can afford.

actually that posr has everything to do with your truck but ok!

look in my gallery for the sky flip kit. http://www.sky-manufacturing.com they are very safe but a flip kit won't allow you to haul quite as much with your truck since you are moding it from tension to compression spring....but you will still be able to hold just about anything you want! they are beefier than stock and will hold up to a lot more abuse.

IMO this is the best and it is pretty cheap!

The shackles look great I may do that. They lift the rear 4.5in where is the best place to come up with the extra 1.5 that I need. This question may sound silly but I have a set of factory 4in lift blocks from a 78 or 79 is it posible to take my factory lift blocks out (2in) and put the older 4in in.

If i get new spings they still wouldn't be able to carry as much as the factory springs would they?

the shackle kit moves your rear shackle down and forward at the same time. well to correct this you take the front spring mount and you move it down far enough to center the axle back up. in doing this you also gian another couple of inches....then all you have to do is catch up with the front!

yes it is VERY possible and easy to swap the blocks but not very desirable due toi the extra leverage on the axle which will cause more u-joints to break!

Going for some eagle alloy's later this week. Sometime this year I might look into changing the gears I'm running 3.55 now and it's a little slow.
