Leaf Removal - Which Leaf middle or bottom?

Collecting parts for the SAS and I picked up a pair of 6in lift front leaf springs. The bottom (shortest in the pack) leaf is cracked. My plan was to remove the bottom leaf on both springs. I've done a search on leaf spring and removal in this forum and I've seen most people recommend removing a spring for ride improvement and/or lowering, but which one?

Remove the very bottom spring to improve your ride (luckily the one that's broken ). This will allow all your other springs to flex more easily.

the more leaves you take from the bottom the better it will ride and more flex but you will lose some lift and also carrying capacity!
