Sagging seat help

The drivers side of the bench in my '73 is shot. It's listing real bad to the left, and after driving around for a while you find yourself wedged in between the door and the seat.

At the wrecker most of the benches I find from the same era suffer the same problems.

Will a bench from a a newer model bolt in ??

Will it fit on the existing seat rail or will I have to swap that too ??

Your recommendations and help are greatly appreciated.

About 12 years ago I was having the same problem
as you on a ranger and while having some interior
work done the tech asked me if I wanted the seat
"fluffed up" and back to normal. After I said yes I
watched in amazement as he pulled out some sort
of pressurized steam-chemical machine about
the size of a vacuum cleaner with a 2 foot stinger
on it and "injected" the seat back to pretty
close to normal. I was totally amazed but he
seemed like no big deal. Hope this helps.

Another option is LMC. They sell the complete cushion. You just need to udno the hogrings, pull back your seat cover and replace the cushion.

A couple years ago I was in the same boat as you. It would've cost $250+ to have my seat repaired and reupholstered. I found a used seat from a '91 F150 (up to '96 will fit) with fold down armrest for $150 in perfect shape. It bolts right in, using the old seat rails on the new seat. Much better than having the old one repaired.
