check engine light is on

i just hit 100,000 miles last night, and at about the same time the engine light came on. last night it felt very sluggish...if i gave it gas, it would stutter a bit then it would go. it seemed like i needed to replace the fuel filter, which i did today, but the light is still on. any ideas? thanks.

go to "autozone" or "checker" they will scan the computer for free and can tell you why it is on

i took it to autozone, and the people at autozone here aren't the brightest. i have a 1997 F250 HD, and i'm tired of people questioning the year, as if i didn't know the year of my own truck. the guy at autozone insisted that the diagnostic connector was inside the cab, not under the hood where it says "EEC TEST" like i told him it was. then he didn't know how to read the codes, i had to get my chilton to decipher the code. anyway, it was the throttle position sensor. thanx
