Replacing mirrors

Hello,
I was wondering how difficult it is to replace a mirror on a 03 Expy, driver side. I need to replace the whole unit. A Bus tried to wipe the mirror of as my Expy was parked on a city street!! Luckily the only thing that was hit was the mirror.

I have power/heated mirrors.

Mine pop apart

On my 97, they "pop" apart. There are four pieces altogether. The main assembly pops up of a spring-loaded stem, the glass part and its backing pop away from the motor plate, which unscrews so you can pop off the colored part tabs.

Remove door panel, remove 4 mounting nuts, disconnect electrical connector, replace mirror assembly.

Thanks for the quick replies,
Do the door panels just pop off or is a special tool needed? Any advice for removing the door panels would be appreciated.

Front Door Trim Panel —Expedition
Removal and Installation

Remove the door handle bezel.
Use service notch.

Remove the window control switch plate.
Use service notch and disconnect the electrical connectors.

Remove the two bolts and three screws, and remove the door trim panel.

CAUTION: To avoid damage to the door trim panel, lift the door trim panel by pulling directly upward on the armrest to disengage the panel clips.

To install, reverse the removal procedure.
