I found a 91 ranger w/60000 miles. The owner said the chip was taken out to make a race truck out of it but never raced it. The rear brake line at the master cylinder is disconected. Is this consistant with the racing setup? The truck runs great and the front brakes work fine. Is this a good deal at 200.00? How hard is it to put the chip back in?
Any kind of Ranger with a motor that runs fine is worth $200, IMO.
A stock Ford Ranger does not come with a "chip", just a standard computer. People put chips in to increase performance, they don't take chips out. So if there is no chip installed, then it is running on the stock computer program.
Thanks Rockledge, I agree on the 200.00 dollars. I bought it today and it runs great. The motor and the five speed OD tranny are well worth the money. Also, I thought the same on the chip but had to ask. Thanks again for the reply.
