Sensor ID?
What is the sensor that goes into water passage with all the tubes going to it? My truck is a 1981 F100, IL6. I just aquired the truck and trying to put emission parts back in shape. I can't find a replacement if I don't know what to ask for! I have replaced them on other vechicles but have forgotten the name.

It's called a Ported Vaccume switch.
Closes or opens up vaccume when it reaches a certain temperature. Usually hooked to the EGR Valve, (or Coolant temperature switch) through the Vaccume lines.

81-F-150-Explorer is right it is a ported vacuum switch on the l6 and is located in the thermostat housing. It may have 2,3 or 4 ports and the price goes up for each port. I controls emissions according to engine temp by changing the vacuum to other devices.
