CV Boots

I have 98 F150 4x4 and one of the CV joint boots is tore. I'm putting ball joints on it this weekend. From experience, should I go ahead and replace all the boots and repack the joints just to get it out of the way or just replace them as the get bad.

Just because one is torn, doesn't mean that the others are. You see front wheel drive cars that have been running for 15 years, without a CV joint going bad, and they use a similar system, and probably have more stress going through the joint because it's providing power all the time. Replace them as they go bad, because your others are probably fine.

Also, if the boot is torn, check the joint itself, because a torn boot causes the grease to leak out, and the joint gives out. Hopefully, you cought it soon enough so that the joint is still good.
