Exclamation 292 Block Rebuild Advice

1960 F-250 Crew Cab courtesy Orville Metal Specialists Orville OH

292 Engine

Father in law says wrist pin damaged cylinder in right bank.

Can I fix this problem, engine sat for long time losts of water and rust....do I save it or start with something else? No heads or intake manifold......just old rusty rocker arms

Also best place for headers instead of wrap around exhaust system.

and best ideas for intake manifold and carb configuration while still being able to use original air cleaner canister

thanks to any and all DAVE

I have a 292 and Im a bit closer than TN. Im in Oregon, its a 60 with a floor shift 4 speed, it has dual exhaust on it using the stock xover manifolds.
I can seem to get rid of it and its hindering my work as I need to get it out of the truck. The 292 would be the right way to go if your thinking of putting it back to stock..I am doing the rod thing and most of the stock stuff is going away, I picked up a 2nd truck the other day and loved using the cutting torch on it

Gentlemen,

Thank you for your offers............I am lucky to live in an area where I have several 292's available to me within a 300 mile radius............ie; Loveland Colorado and Cheyenne Wyoming that I have found.

Thanks again just trying to figure if I should buy one of those or try to work up from mine.........
