That's awesome (47mpg) on the Festy...I've got a 91 and 92 - both are 5-spds with A/C. The best I've managed is 41mpg. Of course I drive them at 75-80mph too - YES...they can go that fast
62k miles sure seems a little premature for hub assy. replacements...

My Festy is primarily my ride to work. Seldom sees over 50 mph and I drive like an old man....hell, I am an old man. I've gotten 48 mpg and a low of 44. But first click on the gas nozzle on fill-ups more often than not is 47 mpg.
Yeah....125K is about the normal life expectancy of a hub, but crap happens. The Jimmy routinely pulls a couple of 5,000 lb trailers but that shouldn't have any bearing. Maybe it was late Friday afternoon and someone spilled their CC & Coke in the bearings during assembly.
