Fuel Tank Mods

Did the fuel mods this weekend! I am glad I did it. I replaced all the o-ring fittings all the way from the tank to the pump. I removed the mixing chamber in the tank and extended the return line away from the pickup. I did put my pickup back on. When I started it back up and got all the air out it ran much quieter. It also started like normal. Before i did it when the fuel got down to about 1/4 tank it started and sounded awful.

I also cut off the fill vent pipe. Filled up at the big rig pump wide open, clicked off and I put in a little over a gallon in about a minute. GREAT!!

Thanks Kwiwordead for the idea of getting rid of the air leaks.

You're welcome. I must pass the credit for all those ideas to TexasTownCar and Hutch for all thier hard work on this. I was reaping the benefits of thier efforts and now so are you. What a difference!!

Kwikkordead, do you know if there's a guide on the Web showing how to do
either of those mods? I just bought a 2001 F-250 and I don't want to run into this problem. Mine is pretty quiet, but I have yet to get it below 1/4 tank.
I would much rather do either one of those mods than replace the injectors and/or injector pump. Thanks for your help.....
