I have a 1996 F150 4x4 ext cab 302 and I am looking for the DPFE .
Does anyone know where it is located ??
I believe it is either behind the engine or on the fire wall.
Thanks in advance.
Gene
I found the DPFE, with some help from my wife, and a large light.....
It was in front, below the the plastic cover for the throttle body..
I thought it was behind the engine or on the fire wall.
There wer 2 bolts that held it in.
Also, there wer 2 vacuum lines on it, and an electrical connector.
There was alot of corrosion on the vacuum attachments.
I cleaned the vacuum attachments, and cleaned the electrical connector..
Hopefully this will keep the dreaded check engine light from returning to my dashboard display...
Thanks,
Gene
Glad to see you found it. i had to replace mine on my 96F150 w/302. It was about $98 from Ford, but I had to get it and have that light get turned off.

I just done mine on my 96 302 yesterday. The corrosion according to Ford is the problem that stuff gets sucked into the sensor and it doesnt read right. I bought a new one from ford and they are redesigned made out of plastic (supposed to not corrode) and the hoses side by side instead of front and back. The hoses are 70 bucks due to them being molded sylecone. I also replaced the hoses they were full of that junk. Luckily the Ford dealer had the hose in bulk and I got by for 8.00. Well so far no light and am keeping fingers crossed.
