premium sound system

I'm trying to install a used Pioneer am-fm cd player in an '87 econoline with a premium sound system.Is there a way around buying the harness conversion kit?

um, yeah, you could splice the wires... but it's much cleaner to use a harness.

The harness kit isn't very expensive at all. $6 at Wal-Mart I think. Of course I couldn't go that route because the idiot who owned the truck before me screwed up the stock harness so bad I had to just cut it out and rewire. If you have a Haynes manual it should give you a wiring diagram of the stock radio wires.

cute..............my problem is that tha WIRING HARNESS does'nt directly connect to the SPEAKERS,instead it goes directly to the EXTERNAL AMP so that splicing wires is not really an option unless I am clear about how to connect to the aux amp.See my problem? thanx..........
