Decoding

Where can I find the meanings for the codes on the rating plate on the drivers side door? I have the owners manual but i cannot find anything about it although it says the information is on a certain page, but it is not.

For highway crusing it's good, but for towing terrible. Most guys like the 3.55s ro 3.73s as a good balance.

Short Answer... it deppends... on what is the truck's work and also what tranny, engine model and tires size.

In my oppinion I6 engines works nice with E4OD + 3.55 + 31X10.5 tires OR I6 + AOD + 3.55 + 235X7.5 tires

For towing/climbing consider then 3.73 or even 4.1

In my opinion, 2.72 gears would be fine with a 300-6, with a T-18 4 speed. For crusing, towing and hauling. Good fuel economy on the highway, and grandma gear for when you need to tow or haul heavy stuff.

Would be awful with a 302 with a automatic.

I have a C6 and a 3.00 rear, does fine on flat land but doesn't like hills too much. Tow more than 1500 lbs and it slows to a crawl on any grade. Swapping punkins' to a 3.50 next weekend so I ***hopefully*** can go faster than 35mph uphill w/a load.
