Smoking

My new 300 runs like a top but sometimes but not always it will have a little bit of white smoke out of the tail pipe.
it burns no oil
the plugs are not fowled
it has the cat removed and the egr works
what is it?
my dad says it might need the head rebuilt
any one have any ideas?

White smoke means anti-freeze is burning, probably a bad head gasket.

do you think the head gasket could wait till the winter when i pull it off the road?
should i go ahead and do it since i'm off school?

I would do it now if you can, you don't want to end up on the side of the road. The gasket probably won't last until winter.

If you have never done this before and don't have anyone who has or has a good base knowledge of auto mechanics I don't recommend doing the repair yourself.
However if you insist in addition to the head gasket set you will need the intake/exhaust manifold gaskets and while you have it apart it wouldn't be a bad idea to put in a new valve cover gasket and replace the thermostat and housing gasket.

Oh yeah, your question, it would probably take someone who's done before a few hours, my first time it took me a day and a half.
