Hey there everyone, I stumbled across this board a few weeks ago after I bought my truck and have found it quite helpful. I thought I would post and give you some info on the truck and my future plans (long term project truck) so here goes:
1978 Ford F-150 ranger supercab 4x4
400 with C-6 transmission, 205 transfercase
D44 high pinion front axle
9" rear with LSD
Burnt Orange exterior
Brown interior
So thats what I have to work with. This project will be a ground up resto which I have never attempted but am willing to give it a shot.
future plans (let me know what you think)
6" lift (this truck has leaf springs at all 4 corners which I found odd for a 150)
37" tires (if axles will handle the stress)
4.56 gears
rear locker (auto or selectable ?)
drive line rebuild (keeping the 400, C6 and the 205)
The body work will be left to last since I know squat about it and will have to learn from trial and error. So what do you think, any comments would be greatly appreciated. Thanks guys.
also, welcome. lots of information to be had here. the search feature works pretty good, but if you cant find some information, drop a line and ask, i am sure somebody here has the answer.
