Just out of curiosity, how many of you failed your permit test once or more? I remember when i took mine i failed it twice before getting it. Road test i failed too. Wasnt my fault though...cop in the car with me was real Edited for Content. making me nervous
I aced the learner's test the first try. But the road test, well, the first time I failed it by one point. Something about not driving over painted lines. Second time I got it.

dido, i aced the writen test but failed the road test the first time. my problem was i had driven for about a year before i got my licence, so on the driving part i did not have both hands on the wheel, and when i turned coners i would use one finger to spin the wheel. the tester did not like my "causual approch to driving"
wow. they cop who took me out had me go to an empty parkign lot and i was driving my dads big car at the time (96 olds aurora, that thing was BIG) , but was a good car and i hit the curb. hes like FAILED drive back i was like mad
The written test (even though its on comp now) really threw me off, it was nothing like the practice tests in drivers ed. Luckily I was skimming through the book on the way there, that and using a little common sense I ended up doing fine.
I had a driving class in HS. They had a 62 Galaxy with manual steering. That was the hardest car to steer that I ever drove. I had my learners permit at .....15 1/2. Got my license on the day I turned 16.
passed the permit test the first time...barely...by one point...but i got it. then i got my license on the first try also. its not a good sign when u do something and u glance over at the cop and he's writing something down. i live in the wonderful state of ND...so i got my permit the day i turned 14, and my license 6 months later....i wasnt even 15 yet and i could legally drive.

Well, actually it was your fault. Lots of things can make you nervous when you drive and you have to be able to deal with it. Unless he was actually turning the steering wheel, pushing the pedals, or imparing your vision his actions should have no affect on your ability to drive the vehicle.
Kinda sounds like my son. He still won't admit that it was his fault he ran his car over a curb and destroyed the front suspension. It apparently shouldn't be his fault that the road was slick because it just started raining for the first time in a couple weeks, and the owner's manual said it had anti-lock brakes that let you steer if you start skidding. I might actually consider seeing how much it would cost to fix his car if he would just understand he caused the problem by going too fast for the condidtions.

Guess I am the only other one here that also failed the learners permit twice. The first time was by more points (can't remember) because I wasn't as prepared and the people at out licence brance are the rudest people you ever saw.
I passed my written on first go around (it is entirely based on the handbook as far as I am concerned).
Passed my driving test the first time around too.
Of course I have been driving since I could just reach the peddles on a tractor....cars I had to wait until I was a teen.
Guy I know failed on his first attempt at driving test - he basically 'drag raced' a tractor trailer down the highway
I am thinking I should get my motorcycle license before I get into trouble.......
