Well ya but it aint a slam you to the back of the seat feel. You will get a little better off the line and a smother feel throuhh out the RPM ranger. If you have one or can get one I would do the swap,it takes about 10 min.to do and if your real careful you can use the same gaskets.
I did mine to help with the Bottom end grunt for wheelin ,but I can now clime a hill with criuse on and not loss speed like it did with the small TB.So yea it is worth it.Im sure that some other here have done the swap and can tel you how it worked for them.

You can feel it. But like Gray stated, it won't slam ya back into your seat. It will give you better throttle response. I feel it more in the upper RPM range-like 3000-3500 RPM. Don't get me wrong, I feel it on "off the line" But I feel it better in the upper RPM range. I would do the swap. It's cheap and easy and you will like the feeling you did it all by yourself.

I dont know about the price of one ,I dont think you can get it new anymore. The TB is on all 86/87 2,9 rangers and Bronco II.All you need is the TB and maybe the gaskets if you dont brake them. You will have to use your TP sensor the 86/87 has a diffrent plug on it .There is no diffreance in the TB and the one on your truck except the size the 86/87 is Bigger.
