I live a few miles from his shop....
in fact, that's where I got my exhaust from before Motorhaven had their sale...

Some people swear by them, some think they are horrible, his new 160 hp box is supposed to be better, but I'm sstill a little squeamish about it personally...
The predator is enough power for me and MUCH less expensive than the $800 or more I've heard his box runs...

I am running the Quadzilla 0-60-90-160 box in my truck. I have run the original 115 box and the 125 box (had them reflashed) and this one is by far the best of the lot. The 160 mode takes getting used to because it is a handful. Quadzilla's customer service it really good, but they tend to forget the installation instructions. Not that you really need them, but it is nice to have.

Yeah, I'm interested as to what this box can do. I'm in the market for a chip and haven't made up my mind as to which one I want. Any info you can provide will be great!

I don't have a dyno run with this box yet. I just have one with the old 125 box. With the 125 box, the truck put down 425 HP at the wheels. So I would guess the new box would be around 450 HP.

What about TQ numbers? Also, where can I find some more info on this new box? I didn't see anything listed on their site.

Unfortunately the place that held the dyno day didn't have the hardware or software to give torque numbers. So we were only able to show horsepower numbers. But I am sure that it is in the 700+ range.

450 is approaching the limits of the transmission. I do not question Quadzilla's actual power rating, however assuming they do put down 160 you are getting in the danger range. A technician at TS performance personally told me that thier 165 horse box, after a little while, will start going right through the transmission, and not to buy one until I rebuilt the transmission. I doubt he would lie about it because he knew that telling me that would cost them a sale.

I personally like the 60 mode for towing, 90 mode for all around driveability and the 160 as a cheater. For driving around in traffic and city driving, the 160 is a bit aggressive. But when you need to open a can of whoop ***, it does the job quite well.

How is the shifting on the Quad box? Does it bark the tires pretty good?

Watch the language. Please go back and edit that out.

If you want alot more posts about power modules go to the dieselstop.com there is more info there than anywhere else the net the moderators are not replying all the time and are alot more leanant with what you can discuss.

jamie

p.s. ill probably get banned for this. thats how insecure they are.

Ok I want you to explain this to me. There isnt even a moderator here right now! Im sure thats why you posted this, thinking noone would care since noone is here to enforce the rules. There have been NUMEROUS people come here from the diesel stop telling us about how unruly and unknowledgable it is over there. Do you think it is not as lenient here? Go read the methanol thread. It contains ALOT of just plain conversation. The difference between here and the diesel stop is that we can actually stay on the subject and have off subject conversation at the same time. I have read the threads over there, and in just my opinion, the site is a joke. Noone here at FTE appreciates your condescending attitude, trying to draw people away from a great site.

Is there a problem with moderators replying in discussions? The last time I checked, they are members of the forum community too. The moderator here is one of us; he owns a 6.0 and actively participates in the FTE family not just as a moderator, but a friend. If you have a problem with this, maybe the Diesel Stop is the place for you. However, DO NOT come over here, name-calling "insecure". We are obviously not the insecure ones; we don't go into Diesel Stop telling thier members to deviate here. None of us here appreciate such comments.

We here at FTE WILL HAVE ORDER. We DO NOT look down on our moderators here for keeping order, and WE DO NOT flame them for actively participating in the forums. It is just as much thier discussion as yours. We stay on topic AND have friendly discussions without a bunch of bull in the process, including senseless arguments like DS. ORDER WILL BE KEPT HERE WHETHER YOU LIKE IT OR NOT. Sorry to disappoint you.

Appreciate the redirect to that other site for info...
but some of us don't go there for a reason....
some may be knowledgeable there,
but the tenor of most post is such that it hurts the credibility of the posters...
You'll find that there's a lot of info over here too...

I was actually just making conversation....
I know a lot about the Quad equipment, but wanted to hear Maxr's opinion...

To each his own... but I haven't posted over there in the last year....
I just like this neighborhood a bit better
and I know where Quad spend a lot of his time and given the slams HE had taken over there I'm suprised he stayed there
