I've been pricing an Explorer on carsdirect, & I'm surprised that their price is about $700.00 above invoice for the vehicle. That's a BIG difference from Jeff's price of $200.00 under invoice.
I would like to be able to get Jeff's pricing @ a local dealer here, helping the local businessman & economy, etc, so I'll have to see if they will match the deal.
I think the price that CarsDirect is quoting is what you could expect to pay for one like that in your area, not necessarily what you can buy it for through CarsDirect. Interesting, though: I've sold a couple of Explorers in the Newburgh/ Poughkeepsie area in the past 2 years, and both customers told me that the best they could do in that area was................$700 over invocie.
Hey Jeff. This is probably a long shot, but is there any way someone could order a car or truck from you and your dealership and have it delivered to a local dealership? Something like a dealer trade?

Not in this life, right....?
Not at this point in time, anyways. I've done 2 so far, and let's just say that both have been "problematic." It comes down to this: the same dealer that you'd prefer not to do business with locally is the SAME one that will be responsible for the delivery and care of the new truck you buy from me. We call that "a recipe for disaster." Let's put it this way: if you're willing to pay me for the truck, IN FULL, before you actually get to see it, then send me an e-mail and we'll talk. I wouldn't be too keen to do business that way, and I wouldn't expect you to, either.
