Oil Pressure

I have a 94' f150 with a 302. Sometimes, when the engine is hot and I come to a stop, it will show no oil pressure. It runs great oil pressure on the road and when it is cold. when I hit the gas it goes right back up. When it shows no oil pressure the motor does no make any unusual noises or run any different; one time i put it in park opened the hood and really listened- no different sound. I dont think it is really running with no oil pressure. Think it might be the sending unit. Any suggestions.

Thanks,

I would keep it full of clean oil 10W-30W and drive on!

Sounds good to me! Thats what I am doing and it hasn't blown up yet! I think it would have by now if it was really not running any oil pressure. It's just a little annoying.

One other option is to throw in some 20W-50. Mine was doing the same thing with a new fuel gauge, and the 20 weight kicked the pressure up 25 pounds, across the entire rev range. It's summer time so the heavier weight oil shouldn't be to thick for ya'.
