Steering question

When I turn the steering wheel either way, I get a kind of creeking sound. It's not the creeking popping going on under the floorboard like alot of people (I have that one too). But this one is only when I turn the wheel. It doesn't matter if I am moving or stopped. Anyone have an idea of what might cause it??

Had something like that a LONG time ago.... on an OLD car
thought it was the steering box... but basically the steering wheel shaft going thru the steering column had dried out on mine !

pulled the steering wheel opened it up and added as much grease as i could...
but it was further down in there so ended going to the local mom and pop shop down the street and they fixed me right up...

Sorry - I failed to mention the creeking sound is outside of the truck, not inside. With my windows closed I can't even here it.
