Diagnostic fee on recall?
My 97 Explorer is displaying the classic engine problems with the cam chain. The dealer said they will charge a $70 diagnostic fee, and if they determine it is covered under the warranty then they will fix it for free.
Is this right? Do they charge a diagnostic fee when fixing the recalled parts???

Diagnostic fee on recall?
If it was recalled then there is no diagnostic fee. They just fix it. Did you get a recall letter? If not, they can enter your VIN into their computer and tell if your truck was recalled. If so, it's free if not, then what they are doing is standard practice.
