A few nights ago I was getting ready to get out of my 1996 Explorer XLT. I went to undo the seatbelt and it wouldn't unlatch. I had to crawl out of the seatbelt. It's been latched ever since. Does anyone have any idea how to get this damn thing unlatched? Or should I replace it??
try going to your local dealer; they shouldn't charge u for looking @ it...
I have a 89 nissan 240sx that carries a lifetime warranty for the seatbelts... my lil bro had a 89 shadow that had malfunctioning automatic belts & they fixed it; no charge...
The same thing happened in my old 97 Explorer. Im one of those guys who refuses to go to the dealer, in fear that they will say "you need this, you need that". Im pretty much a Do It Yourselfer. I tried numerous times to unjam that seatbelt, but had no luck. I took it to the dealer, and the replaced it, fairly quickly too. Good luck with it!
